Award Amount
The Out-of-State Veterinary Medical Education Loan Repayment program will assist with repayment of federal student loans for up to five (5) years for eligible veterinarians that attended Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and practice food supply veterinary medicine within the State of Arkansas.
Detailed Description
Basic Eligibility Criteria
An applicant must:
- Be a bona fide Arkansas resident for at least 12 months prior to the application deadline
- Be a citizen of the United States or a lawful permanent resident
- Have graduated from a veterinary medicine program from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine program after April 2012
- Have outstanding federal student loans
- Hold a valid Arkansas veterinary’s license
- Practice food supply medicine
- Begin practicing food supply veterinary medicine in Arkansas within 90 days after the completion of:
- The professional degree program for which the loan was made;
- An internship program; OR
- The professional degree program for which the loan was made and an internship program
Continuing Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must provide documentation that proves continuation to meet the eligibility criteria set forth above.
